What’s the Buzz? March in Atlanta
City Springs Theatre’s South Pacific
In its inaugural season, City Springs Theatre brought in the big guns! Joining the cast of South Pacific are William Michals (Bright Star) and Kristen Reese (Les Miserables) .The pair will be starring as Emile de Becque and Nellie Forbush, respectively. The Atlanta production is directed and choreographed by Broadway legend, Baayork Lee. Lee starred in the original casts of Golden Boy and A Chorus Line
The cast also includes Maxim Gukhman, Resa Mishina, Yvonne Strumecki, Bart Hansard, Steve Hudson, Chris Saltalamacchio, Haden Rider, JD Myers, CJ Babb, Caleb Brink and Aaron Carter. Additionally Leticia Chavez, Fenner Eaddy, John Fiscian, Allison Fisher, Arielle Geller, D.J. Grooms, Leigh Ellen Jones, Imani Joseph, Leah Keelan, Carter McCombs, Matt McCubbin, Cheryl Ocfemia, and Sophia Ocfemia. In addition to Ben Ohnemus, Jessica Olson, Meaghan Paetkau, Skye Passmore, and Russell Scott. Rounding out the cast is Lauren Tatum, Jake Vielbig, Daniel Yakamoto-Wengel, and YingLing Zhu. Actor’s Express’ Falsettos
Atlanta’s Actor’s Express continues Season 31 with Tony award-winning Falsettos. With music and lyrics by William Finn and book by William Finn and James Lapine.
Starring as Craig Waldrip (Merrily We Roll Along, The Rocky Horror Show) as Marvin, Jordan Dell Harris (Spring Awakening, Six Degrees of Separation) as Whizzer, and Jessica De Maria (Murder Ballad, Sweeney Todd) as Trina. With Ben Thorpe as Mendel. The role of Jason will be played by two young actors, Alex Newberg and Vinny Montague. Rounding out the cast are Kylie Brown (An Octoroon) as Cordelia and Kandice Arrington (Little Shop of Horrors) as Dr. Charlotte. You can find ticket info here.
The Aurora Theatre’s Men with Money
The Aurora Theatre is treating Atlanta audiences to a musical world premiere! Men With Money will raise the curtain at Aurora Theatre from March 7-April 7! The romantic romp is set in an imagined 1950’s Manhattan in which being gay is culturally accepted. It follows three young bachelors looking to marry their way from rags to riches.Two gay and one straight, the men might just have what it takes to pull off the gig.
Written by Bill Nelson anc Joseph Trefler with direction by Justin Anderson. Men With Money stars Sean Doherty as Louis, Marcello Audino as Max and Kenny Tran as Sonny. Other members of the all-star cast include Daniel Wisniewski, Adrianna Trachell, Brian Robinson, Jimi Kocina, Cecil Washington Jr. and Candy McLellan. With musical direction by Ann-Carol Pence and choreography by Ricardo Aponte.
